

Mary Cook, age 94 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at The Beehive Assisted Living in Louisville, Kentucky. Born in Arjay, Kentucky on February 12,1932, to the late Rollie and Ella (Williams) Durham. Mary lived a life for Jesus Christ, her family and students. She was a member of Thixton Lane Baptist Church where she raised her four children. She worked hard as an EMH Special Needs Teacher for the Bullitt and Jefferson County Public Schools where she was loved and respected by her students and faculty. In her spare time, she like to work Vacation Bible School. She had the best garden of vegetables and flowers in the neighborhood. Her children were her pride and glory. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children William (Bill) Cook, Carol (Cook) Haskett (Gary), Rhonda Cook (Kevin Gross) and Holly Lee (Travis); 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Willie Durham (June), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear family and friends.
Her Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy and John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Highland Memory Gardens.
