Mary "Libby" Dorsey

Mary “Libby” Dorsey, age 84, of Mt. Washington, Ky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 14, 2023.   She was born in Hart County, KY on March 1, 1939, to the late Robert David Dorsey, Sr: and Bertha Cordelia (Thompson) Dorsey. She was a member of the Lincoln Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Hodgenville, Kentucky, she loved her church and enjoyed gospel music. Libby was a terrific artist and did beautiful sketch work, she also loved quilting, and doting on her nieces and nephews, showing them great love, and selfless acts of kindness. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by her brother Robert David Dorsey, Jr., and his wife Bonnie Dorsey, and her sister Delores Stallard.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two nieces, Sherry Nepute (Adam), Tammy Key (Lyn), her nephew Terry Dorsey, three grand nieces, Kristina Merideth (Josh), Josie Stevens, and Lauren Cocke (Mark), two grand nephews, Leonard Key (Leighann), and Logan Key, three great nieces, Noelle Merideth, and Emelia Merideth, and Linnleigh Key, along with a host of other dear family and friends.     

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, August 21, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with a private burial to follow. Family and Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday August 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
