Mary "Marla" Dunn

Mary “Marla” Dunn, age 81, of Louisville, Ky passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 02, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born on June 27, 1943, to the late Marvin Dennis and Elizabeth Cecil. Marla was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a devoted Catholic, apart of St. Luke’s Catholic Church for over 30 years. She was on the parish counsel, social club, and made bereavement meals for families in need. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and supporting the University of Louisville Cardinals. Marla’s best memories were spent with her dearest grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her world. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Dunn, sister Yvonne Brangers, brothers Mike Dennis, Mark Dennis, Stevie Dennis, and Clifford Dennis. 

She is survived by her 2 sons Christopher Meredith (Sheila) and Richard Todd Curtsinger (Evelyn), 2 brothers Barry Dennis (Jean) and Jessie Dennis (Regina), 2 sisters Rose Gutermuth and Kathy Wells (Alan). Grandchildren Eric Curtsinger (Becca) and April Waddell (Ashley), 4 great-grandchildren Desi Waddell, Rhett Curtsinger, Dean Waddell, and Catherine Curtsinger, along with other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 06, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 05, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens.
