Mary Elaine Durr

Mrs. Mary Elaine Durr, age 79, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Mrs. Durr was born in Louisville, KY on July 10, 1943 to the late Roy Ray Bishop and Maudie Kyle Bishop. Elaine was dedicated to her work with both the Census Bureau for 17 years and Belknap Hardware for 16 1/2 years and she was Pentecostal by faith.

In addition to her parents, her siblings, Martha Dillander, Opal Cordelia Noe, Shirley Ann Grassi, Roy Lee Bishop and Wayne Thomas Bishop Sr. preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years, Don Durr; daughter, Selisa Marler; grandchildren, Jason Durr (Amanda) and Don Eric Marler; great-grandchildren, Nick, Damien, Aiden and Addilynn and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 24, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of her service at 2pm at the funeral home.
