Mary Helen Richardson

Mrs. Mary Helen “Kiefer” Richardson, age 80, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 29, 2018. Mrs. Richardson was born in Louisville Kentucky during the great “37” flood on March 3, 1937 to the late William and Helen Kiefer. She went to Loretto High school which was an all-girls school and worked for Vulcan Hart Manufacturing Co. from 1955-1956. She fell in love with a young man she had met on a blind date in 1957 that was set up by her friend Rita. She soon became his bride on September 26, 1959. Mrs. Richardson was a very spiritual woman who loved Jesus. She lived her faith and loved spending several hours in Bible Study and prayer daily. Mrs. Richardson was an avid U of K fan. She was very crafty and enjoyed making bookmarks of all kinds, and loved painting, and Journaling. She was a great homemaker and mom. Her Lord and her family was her life. Mrs. Richardson will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 58 years, Keith Anthony Richardson; 6 children, Mark Richardson (Mitzi Crafton), Nita Richardson Schroeder (Charles), Erik Richardson, Anne Richardson, Aaron Richardson, Janel Richardson McDonald (Keith); 7 grandchildren, Angela Richardson Hardin, Charles Schroeder, David Schroeder, Emily Richardson, Katie Schroeder, Dalton Richardson, and Mason McDonald; 4 great grandchildren, Anakin Hardin, Bennet Hardin, Elphaba Hardin and Anna Schroeder; 3 brothers, Bill Kiefer (Linda), Gene Kiefer (Betty), Dave Kiefer (Peggy); several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.  

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.). Friends may pay their respects from 4:00 pm Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
