Michael Irving Reisser, age 75, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Earl Reisser and Marjorie (Miller) Chumbley. Michael was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a 1968 graduate of Southern High School in Louisville, Kentucky where he was active in all sports at the school. In his earlier years, he coached football for the Brooks Saints Youth Football League. He was also very active in North Bullitt High School where he was inducted into North Bullitt High School’s Hall of Fame in 2026. His family fondly remembers him getting to the football field early to apply lime to the field before every game. Michael’s true passion was his family, especially his grandson, Jaydon. Spending time with them and making memories are what Michael held most dear to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie and Honey; aunt and uncle, Dick and Edith Reisser and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dan and Helen Hukle.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory his beloved wife of 55 years, Karen (Hukle) Reisser, son, Jason Reisser; grandson, Jaydon Reisser (Laken McNear); cousins, Becky, Donna, Emily and Gail; friend, Bill Laird; fur-babies, Penny and Jingles and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
