Mr. Mercier was born November 1, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and was a retired insurance broker. He was member of Glenwood School for Boys Alumni and St. Rita Catholic Church.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Napoleon and Adeline Skupinski Mercier; brothers, Leon Mercier and Richard Massa.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Mercier; children, Sharon McGowan and Gretchen Morrison and nieces, Michelle, Ivy and Audrey Daniels and Michelle Hunt (Jim).
A private burial will take place at a later date.
Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Louisville.
