Mrs. Norma Jean Collins, age 92, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on October 25, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Gerald Dean and Beatrice Pearl Wilson. Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, James Collins; daughter, Linda Hunt; son, Ronie Collins; grandchild, James Ray Collins, Jr.; great grandchild, Justin Collins; brother, Bill Wilson; and sisters, Dotie Simpson and Shirley Hughes.
Mrs. Norma appreciated nature and loved being out on the boat. She loved visiting and staying at Barren Lake. Every Monday she held a Bible Study which she enjoyed sharing the Word of God. She played BUNKO with her friends and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, James Collins, Sr. (Norma), Danny Collins (Mary); grandchildren, Jeff Baker, Eric Baker (Tam), Scott Collins (Melissa), Charlie Collins (Jamie), and Chris Soeder; 11 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Wilson (Debbie); and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Mt. Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Adolphis, Kentucky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
