Norma Gay Myers

Mrs. Norma Gay Myers, age 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 7, 2023. She was born in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on May 18, 1932 to the late Armour and Anna Layer. She was a member at Hebron Presbyterian Church, the Kentucky Education Association, and the Bullitt County Retired Teacher Association. Mrs. Myers was a 1st grade teacher for 37 years, in retirement she loved traveling, gardening and playing cards with her friends; she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, Bobby Myers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Judy Myers (Steve Feck); sons, Gary Myers (Debbie), Tim Myers (Janet); granddaughters, Andrea Quigley (Sean), Deanna Jenkins (Phil); grandsons, Matt Myers (Annie); granddaughter, Sarah Gross (David); great grandchildren, Whitney (Sam), Austin, Kyle, Nolan, Lori, Olivia, Margaret; great great grandchild, Grayson, baby Quigley on the way; and a host of family, friends, and former students.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her companions and caregivers Tamika Cochran and Kyle Myers. The family would also like to thank the compassionate staff at Wesley Manor Health Care Center.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery. Family and friends can pay their respects on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
