Pamela Rogers

71 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2025 at Norton Hospital, surrounded by family.

Born on July 16, 1954, Pam was the beloved daughter of Maxine Seigle (Croghan) and the late Fred Payne. A proud 1972 graduate of Jeffersontown High School, she continued her education at Sullivan University and dedicated her career to The Kroger Company, from which she retired after many years of loyal service.

Pam's curiosity lit up the world around her. She was fascinated by the mysteries of the universe - stars, galaxies, aliens, and the vast unknown - often gazing at the night sky in wonder. A longtime member of the Louisville Astronomical Society, she loved sharing her passion for the cosmos. An avid fan of investigative shows and Court TV, she delighted in unraveling real-life puzzles, and her interest in the supernatural led her deep into explorations of ghosts, including hands-on ghost hunting, other dimensions, and out-of-body experiences.

Her greatest joys were rooted in family. She and her daughter Tanya shared cherished traditions - like watching Somewhere in Time every June 27th and laughing through episodes of The Andy Griffith Show together. They even traveled to Mount Airy, North Carolina, the real-life Mayberry, and stayed in Andy Griffith's childhood home. They also made the pilgrimage to Mackinac Island to walk in the film's footsteps. Just recently, they explored the historic and haunted streets of Salem, Massachusetts, a trip filled with enchantment and wonder. Trips with Tanya, her son-in-law Michael, and the grandkids were adventures she treasured.

Above all, Pam lived for her grandchildren, Alexander and Isabella Okes, and her faithful companion, Belle, the dog she adored. Whether sprawled out on the couch watching movies with snacks, cheering through Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and The Floor, or laughing over Dance Moms and baking shows, those moments were her heart's true home.

She was also a proud Louisville Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens fan, she never missed a game.

Pam is survived by her loving mother, Maxine; her devoted daughter, Tanya Okes (Rogers) and son-in-law Michael; her adored grandchildren, Alexander and Isabella; her sister Brenda Thieman (Payne); her brother Donald Payne; her niece Amber Okes (King); her nephews Dustin King and Shawn Ryan; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Payne.

Celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm (visitation will take place before and after her memorial service) at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) Following cremation, Pam’s ashes will be scattered across the ocean - one of the places she loved most, along with the beach and swaying palm trees - with a portion planted alongside a memorial tree to grow and live on.

Donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, the Louisville Astronomical Society, or Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, three causes close to Pam's heart.

Pam lived simply, loved deeply, and will be remembered for her laugh that filled a room, her endless curiosity, and the way she made everyone feel truly seen.
