Pastor James Nelson Lane

Pastor James Nelson Lane, age 79, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 29, 2022. He was born on Sunday, October 3, 1943, to the late, Clarence and Florence Lane. He is also preceded in death by his son, J.L. Lane and his good friend, Don Lane.

He has served the Lord as pastor for thirty years and was one of the founders of Renewed Christian Fellowship, where he served as pastor for eleven years. James was a veteran serving his country in the United States Marines Corp. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Indiana Hoosiers and Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed music and was a member of the quartet group “The Mystics” in the 1960’s, when the group auditioned for The Lawrence Welk Show.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy Lane; his children, Jamie Black (Kevin); 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his siblings, Betty Kohne and Judy Sutton (Edward); his nephew, Brian Mullins (Kelly); his good friend, Pat Lane; along with a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Memorial service will be conducted at 7pm on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway Shepherdsville). Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4pm until 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Renewed Christian Fellowship 9839 3rd Street Road Louisville, KY 40272.
