Mrs. Pattie Sue Powers, age 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, with her family by her side. Pattie was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on May 19, 1948, to the late Loran Whaley and Juanita (Holstead) Ryan. She retired from J.C. Penny's where she worked for 20 plus years in retail. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and sister. Pattie enjoyed spoiling her kids and grandkids, going shopping, she loved going to bingo on Friday and Saturdays and spending Sundays at the casino. She loved telling stories to anyone that would listen, she never met a stranger, and she would be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Sammy “Doug” Powers, and brother Donald Ryan.
Pattie leaves to cherish her memories her husband Sammy Powers, daughter Amy Preher (William), 4 grandchildren Cortney Derringer (Chad), Austin Weatherford (Autumn), Alexandria Miller (Matthew), Audrey Powers, 3 great-grandchildren Braylon, Hayden, and soon to arrive Sammy, sisters Connie Poliskie, Lisa Ryan, brother Kenny Ryan (Glenna), along with a host of nephews, nieces, and other dear family and friends.
A Visitation will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). The Funeral Service will take place on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
