Priscilla Gaye Barnes, age 61, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, after a 17-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 18, 1965, to Leonard and Marcella (Shirley) Burress. Priscilla enjoyed spending time at her pool. She loved doing anything with her family, whether it be visiting the track or playing poker. She also loved her cat, Smokie. Her true passion, however, was her grandchildren; spending time with them and creating memories is what she held most dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, “Pa and Granny” Shirley and her great-grandmother, “Granny Layne”.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 41 years, Steve Barnes; son, Nick Barnes (Tera); grandchildren, Aria and Liam Barnes; parents, Leonard and Marcella Burress; sister, Whitney Heath; nephews, Danny and Matt (Lacey) Colvin and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
