Raymond "Ray" Ries

Raymond George “Ray” Ries, age 55, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 4, 2024, with loving family by his side. He was born on March 24, 1969, in Louisville, Kentucky to Patricia Hume Ries and the late Michael Ries, Sr. Ray was a member of Minors Lane Baptist Church. He loved fishing and enjoyed visiting casinos and playing Bingo. He was “a man of few words but many pillows”. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Beth Hope-Ries; children, Ashley Stevens, Dakota Hope (Kadie) and Austin Hope; mother, Patricia Ries; brothers, Michael Ries, Jr. (Gizelle) and David Ries; (Karen); 3 grandchildren; he was “Uncle Knuckles” to numerous nieces and nephews; and leaves a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory as well. A special “thank you” to Dora McKnight.

Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 7 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 1 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
