Mr. Richard Ray Floyd, age 83, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Mr. Floyd was born in Leavenworth, Indiana on May 1, 1943 to the late Emmett and Hilda Floyd. He attended Raymond Road Baptist and North Bullitt Christian Church. He retired from Swift Meat Packing.
In addition to his parents, his beloved wife, Novie Alice Floyd and siblings, Ernie Floyd, Hazel Howard and Louise Jennings preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Donna Willis (Eddie) and Eddie Floyd (Shirley); grandson, Joey Chesser (Kristi); great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Hailey, Lindsay, Jordan, Lily, Aislin, Fae, Miracle and Maggie; siblings, Joyce, Mildred, Wanda, Edna and Ronnie; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of his service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
