Mr. Richard “Dickie” Gaither, of Fairdale, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky to the late Elza Gaither and Dorothy (Bratcher) Schmidt. Mr. Gaither worked in construction for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susie Allen; grandson, Michael Allen; and granddaughter, Marritt Logsdon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Rita Logsdon (Larry), Shannon Harp (Albert Sims), Tracy King (Willie), Chester Carroll, Ray Gaither, Treasa Sherley, and Kendall Allen; grandchildren, Brittnie Pleasant (Kyle), GarRhett Stinnett, Ray Gaither, Randy Carroll, Joseph Logsdon, Larry Turner, Jacob Logsdon, Bobbie Vanmeter (Joe), Shelby Wise, and Fashonda Goldsmith; numerous great grandchildren; and brothers, Danny Gaither and Jeff King.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday from 12:00pm until the time of service.
