Richard E. Hartman

Richard Hartman, age 78, of Shepherdsville passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 24, 1941 in Jefferson County. He retired from Naval Ordnance and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the VFW Post #5421.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary (Eith) Hartman; brothers, Kenneth and Freddy; sister, Mary Ann Mann; son-in-law, Mike Kirkman.

 He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 32 years, Judy Helm Hartman; daughters, Cindy Kirkman and Sheri Nelson; step-son, Josh Riley (Angela); 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus all services at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home will be private and limited to the closest of family.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
