Richard Lee Jackson

Rick was one of those people who seemed to know someone everywhere he went. He made friends easily and kept them for many years. He had a warm, happy personality and was genuinely friendly to everyone he met.

He loved golf and was a die-hard UK fan. Rick was a very smart guy and loved a good game of Jeopardy. He could answer just about anything and never seemed to run out of things he knew. He attended Western Kentucky University and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

But more than anything, Rick loved his family. He absolutely adored his grandkids, and they adored him right back.

In addition to his parents, his siblings, Junior Jackson, Phillip Jackson, Diane Jackson, Danny Jackson and Scotty Jackson preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Angela M. Jackson; daughter, Cathy Land (Bryan); stepchildren, Lauren Carr, Jillian Carr, Paul Carr and Adam; grandchildren, Taylor Land, Julius Carr and Jackson Carr; many dear friends and a host of other family.

Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026 in the gymnasium of Saint Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church (903 Fairdale Rd., Fairdale, KY 40118)

Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville) have been entrusted with cremation services.
