Ricky L. Taylor, 71 of Cub Run, KY passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by family.Born in Edmonton, KY on Wednesday, February 16, 1955, to the late Dewey B. and Beulah May Taylor. Rick was a manager at Altel for 25 years, vice president of Ram Construction, assistant manager of Dogwood Home and continued building during his years of “retirement”.
Rick shared 51 1/2 years’ marriage with his wife Sherry, where they spent most of their days outdoors, on the lake and with family.
He is survived by his wife Sherry; his daughter Heather (Josh) Woods, his grandchildren, Shelby (Corey) Dailey, Carly (Tyler) McCord, Jackson Woods, Zoe Woods, Tyler Woods, Blake (Hannah) Woods, Ayden Woods and Kinaleigh Woods; great-grandchildren, Enola, Everleigh, Colter, Ellie, Easton Clay, and little Easton due in February; his brothers, Larry (Bonnie) Taylor, and Randall (Patty) Wood. Rick is also survived by many nieces and nephews, a wonderful lake family and his special grand dog, Daisy Duke.
In addition to his parents Rick was preceded in death by his brother Terry and baby brother Ronnie.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Hwy in Shepherdsville with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1 pm to 8 pm and again on Saturday, from 10 am till time of service at 12 noon.
