How can this be real? I remember when we were kids growing up on Dahl road; Johnson, Gorsick, Gordon, White or Brooks; when we stepped off the front porch, our last names melted away and we became one big crazy family. Within our band of brothers, you were always one of the big brothers, looking back at it now, you seemed larger than life. Captain of whatever team you decided to be on and the toughest kid in every room. Anytime our group was challenged, you were the first person to stand up and I never-ever saw you back down. We all looked up to you; not because you had the fastest car or the prettiest sisters. Not because you had the first dirt bike that we had ever seen; not even because you married the girl that we all had a crush on. The reason we all looked up to you was simpler than that; we admired you because our parents were always a little wary of you but, just like us they couldn't resist your infectious grin.

My prayers and thoughts are with you Linda. I am so very sorry to hear of Ricky's passing. I'm just so sorry.

My sympathy goes out to Ricky's family. I was Ricky's Business Agent when he was a member of Ironworkers Local 682. He was a great guy and union member. He will be missed by all.

Ricky Brooks you will be missed by many we didn't hang out much at.all but I though of you not as a brother in law but a brother we all love you and my heart hurts hearing that you passed GOD speed buddy.

How can this be real... how can you be gone   I love you with everything I have   you were the best brother and friend I could ever ask for. Always had a smile. You loved us all through good and bad . You a renal ready so missed . As the world grows darker without you, I know Heaven git brighter  I can't even imagine how glad you and daddy were to be reunited. My sweet brother. My heart is shattered .  I love you from here bub. We will keep your precious memories alive just as we have daddy's.

Our Grandchildren and Ricky's Grandchildren he is the other Papaw. Dominic and Ava Brooks have lost the Best Papaw ever. We miss him dearly...Hard working Man who loved and cared for the family. This man is who everyone was talking about when  they said I know a really good guy...the good are gone to quickly. I am so heartbroken that youbare gone. I grieve because I know what a precious angel we have lost. I dont know a person in this world that knew you and didnt love you. That speaks volumes. You loved our family fiercely and there wasn't a time that I couldn't call you for something and you wouldn't try to help. I always knew I could count on my Uncle Ricky. When I was in the hospital 2 years ago , you were right there by my side. You were singing me silly songs that you sang to your grandbabies to take my mind off of the pain I was in. You cheered me on at my little league softball games and throughout my life. Always had a smile , a joke , a story and never once did I question that you loved me...you always made sure that I knew.  People like you are rare in this crazy world, and we will miss you every day of our lives. Thankfully , I know, that someday I will see you again , and you will great me the same way you always have " well, hello Kristy!"   I love you Uncle Ricky. My life is so much better because you were in it.
