Roger Dale Burks, age 63, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. He was born on April 21, 1963, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to the late Otis and Minnie (Garland) Burks. Roger was an employee of Arcosa in Shepherdsville. He loved old cars, both working on them and admiring them. Roger also enjoyed car racing and anything related to cars. Spending time with his family and friends and making memories is what Roger held most dear to his heart. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Shannon Burks; step-children, Shantel Couch (Homer) and Joe Nix (Liz); step-grandchildren, Amora, Zoey and Malachi; sister, Linda Rogers (Joe Roberts); nephew, Timmy Rogers (Tracey) and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Mt. Eden Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
