Ronald Wilson Gatton

Ronald Wilson Gatton, age 83, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.   He was born in Louisville, KY on February 1, 1942, to the late Howard Gatton and Cecilla Lilly.

He was retired from General Electric and was a member of Greenwood United Baptist Church. He was an Airforce veteran.

Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Nora Irene (Musick) Gatton, having united in marriage on June 4,1986 and a several siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Judy Ford (Tim); stepson, Richard Elder Jr.(Generose); sons, Daryl Gatton (Julie) and David Gatton (Nancy); grandchildren, Christina Ford, Jimmy Ford (April), Joshua Ford, Justin Elder (Samantha), Bryan Elder, Arianna Gatton, Dakota Gatton, Caleb Gatton, Gabriella Gatton, Jacob Buchanan (Jasmine) and Beth Gibson (Adam); great grandchildren, Maddie, Kaitlyn, Makayla, Jessica , Andrew, Beau, Bentlee, Haley, Hayley, Holly, Hollis and Aubrey; and sister, Judy Echsner (Ronald); and close relatives, Vickie Clemmons, Vonnie Priddy & Patti Vittitowe. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow in the Lone Hill United Baptist Cemetery.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
