

Roy T. Parker Sr., age 89 of Butchertown, returned to his Heavenly Father September 14, 2017. Mr. Parker was born in Frankfort Kentucky on August 23, 1928, to Emmett and Pearl (Bruner) Parker. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Parker was a diehard U of L fan and collector. He loved to watch U of L football and basketball on TV but he loved football so much if he could not find HIS team on TV he would watch any football game he could find. He also liked the game show Deal or No Deal. He really loved a lot of sports including fishing, wrestling, NASCAR, and horseracing. Mr. Parker loved people; he never met a stranger, he could talk for hours with people anywhere he went. Mr. Parker was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. He also loved Rollo's but most of all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and 4 sisters.
Mr. Parker leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 68 years, Gloria Parker; 3 daughters, Marion Martin (Paul), Lana Bush (Randy), and Laura Cissell; 2 sons, Roy Parker Jr. (Theresa), and Bobby Parker (Angela); 17 grandchildren, Paul Jr., Michael, Kimberly, Chuck, Bethany, Randi Nicole, Lindsey, Crystal, Timothy, Hellen, Brian, Daniel, Robby, Angela, Christopher, Justin, Tyler, and their spouses; 27 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Charles, Larry and Billy Parker; 4 sisters, Dora, Rose, Lorene, and Betty Jane a whole host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm Monday, September 18, 2017, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, (4895 N. Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, 3301 W. State Hwy. 22, Crestwood, Kentucky. Friends may pay their respects Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 1:00 to 8:00pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
