Sandra Lynn Larue

Ms. Sandra Lynn LaRue, age 65, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Sandra was born in Somerset, KY on June 6, 1961. She was a lifelong member of Little Flock Baptist Church. She was a gifted artist with a passion for painting, restoration projects, photography, and poetry. Her artwork had a remarkable ability to stir emotions and come to life. She also served as a Human Resources Director, where she dedicated herself to supporting and caring for her employees. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others shined brightly in every aspect of her life.

Above all, she was a devoted and loving mother, cherished Grammy, beloved aunt, niece, sister and treasured friend. She loved deeply, gave selflessly, and touched countless lives. She will be remembered and forever missed by all who have had the blessing of knowing and loving her.

Her mother, Elizabeth Louise Mounce King and her grandparents, Sam and Ruth Mounce preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Eric Carter (Stacey); her beloved grandchildren, Sydney Carter and Cameron Carter; siblings, Jennifer Whitlow, Paul Shelton (Page) and Jason LaRue (Debbie); nephew and nieces, Cody Whitlow, Samantha Shaner (Nick), Casey Turner (Grant); great-nieces and great-nephews, Laila Crenshaw, Blake Shaner, Wyatt Turner, and Isabella Turner; aunts, Joann Parrigin (Danny) and Linda Brown; her family in Somerset and a host of other dear relatives and dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of her service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
