Sarah Ann Cook, age 83, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Dallas and Mary Jane (Harmon) Richards. Sarah was a devout Christian and a member of Summitt Hills Baptist Church in Shepherdsville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping, but her true passion was her grandchildren; spending time with them and creating memories are what Sarah held most dear to her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Cook; granddaughter, Alicia Rena Cottrell and several siblings.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy Cottrell (Harold “Goose”); son, Allen Cook (Jennifer); grandchildren, Cory Reid (Evie), Jared Cook and Rachel Cook; several siblings and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Dunbar Cemetery in Jamestown, Kentucky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
