Sarah Jane Gentry

Mrs. Sarah Jane Gentry, age 83, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on April 19, 2023. Mrs. Gentry was born on November 7, 1939, in Washington County, KY to the late Hubert and Ruby (Kays) Welch. She was a homemaker who took very good care of her family. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, husband, Elmer R. Gentry, and granddaughter, Kayla Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Alice Daugherty (Timothy Hand), David Gentry (Sandy), and James Gentry (Stephanie); grandchildren, Amanda, Shelby, Kiara, Morgan, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Drew, Addy, Landen, Ashton, Claire, Rosalie, and Beckham; sisters, Liz Welch and Bonnie Clark; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 11 am until 8 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
