Sean Patrick Flaherty

Mr. Sean Patrick Flaherty, age 48, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 5, 2024. He was born on July 29, 1975, to Nicholas D. and Barbara (Heitzman) Flaherty in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a former member of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church. Sean was a graduate of Desales High School, class of 1993, and a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, where he earned his Associates Degree of Science in Business in 2007. He is preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Sullivan; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Norma Jean Heitzman; and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Anna Flaherty.

Sean was a very kind and compassionate man. He was a wonderful caregiver to his parents. He loved golfing with his son, Christian, and collecting coins. Sean was formerly employed at Big Springs and Louisville Country Club. One of Sean’s favorite hobbies was to write poetry. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Christian Flaherty; parents, Barbara and Nicholas Flaherty; Heather Flaherty; his beloved dog, Boss; niece; Anna Sullivan; nephew, Trey Sullivan; and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1:30 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
