Shirley Ann Burns

Shirley Ann Salmon Burns, age 86, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Shirley was born in New Albany, Indiana on October 22, 1937 to the late Sanford and Bertie Vaughn Routh. She was a member of Walnut St. Baptist Church and retired employee of LGE.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Salmon and second husband, Paul David Burns.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Jeffrey “Jeff” Salmon and Dudley Salmon (Valerie); Kenny Burns (Laverne), Dianne Newman (Larry); 9 grandchildren;  several great- grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with private burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
