Steve Milton Campbell

Mr. Steve Milton Campbell, age 81, Okolona, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1945, in Carter County, Tennessee to the late Maynard Sr. and Martha Campbell. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, MC, Douglas and Bruce Campbell; sisters, Rosie Thomas, Althea Tipton, Dimple Whitley, and Ellen Tipton.

Mr. Campbell served in the United States Army in the 32nd Armor Tanker Battalion. He worked in construction as a superintendent. Once he retired from construction, he drove a bus for special needs children for 14 years with the Jefferson County Public School System. Mr. Campbell was a Mason for 50 years with the Masonic Lodge #266. He was a Christian by faith and a loving family man. Mr. Campbell worked on projects. Anything to stay busy. He would build little things, work on lawn mowers and work on wood. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Paulette Campbell; sons, Brad Campbell (Tracy) and Davey Campbell (Angie); granddaughter, Tiffany May (Steven); great grandchildren, Cheyanna (Keyon Sr.), Isaiah (Stacy), Mahayla and Conor; great great grandchildren, Savannah, Ka'Leah, Ka'Riyah, Keyon Jr., and Cy'Meire; brothers, Rudy Campbell and Lucky Campbell; sisters, Gloria McAmis, Penny Campbell, and Karen Hitechew (Chris); along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday from 9:00am until the time of service.
