Susan E. Brooks

Mrs. Brooks was united in marriage to the late Cecil Brooks on February 11, 1939.  She was saved on January 4, 1935 at Nolin United Baptist Church during revival held by Bro. Ditt Webb, Bro. Jeff Hester and Bro. Eugene Lee. During the same revival, 40 souls were saved and 39 people joined the church on January 7, 1935. They walked to Nolin River where they were baptized. Mrs. Brooks attended church her entire life and enjoyed working with children. She was always helping others. Mrs. Brooks was currently a member of Pond Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lilly Delphi Brooks and six siblings, Herman, Ethal, Ruby, Johnny, Elzie and Narvel.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sisters, Surrilda Hodges (Roy) and Wilda Hodges; three brothers, Overt Rigdon, Arvil Rigdon (Ann) and Melvin Ridgon (Corene) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Lone Hill United Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2pm until 8pm and Monday from 12pm until the time of the service. www.subfuneralhome.com
