Thomas "Tom" Norris Young

Thomas “Tom” Norris Young, 77, of Okolona, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on November 4, 2021. Mr. Young was born on January 12, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Thomas Walter Young and Lula (Elmore) Young. He was employed by LG&E for 36 years and retired from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as a Sergeant. He was also a tour guide with Toby Tours and was the honorary Mayor of Lowe’s for over 15 years. Tom was a recipient of a Bell Award.

His hobbies were making walking sticks and canes, hunting, fishing, telling jokes and long stories. As well as singing and playing music with his siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Catherine (Underwood) Young; children, Lisa Hutt (Fred) and Jason Young (Jennifer); grandchildren, Ashley Roberts (Kyle), Kayla Young, (Jordan), Robyn Hutchinson (Cody) and Faith Hutt; great-grandchildren, Mary Grace Roberts and Ryan Thomas Hutchinson; siblings, Johnny Young, Laverne Smith and Julia Coy (Corky); and his rescue cat, Kitty.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, November 10,2021 in chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 9,2021 from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
