Violet Jean Pierce

Mrs. Violet Jean Pierce, age 79 of Bullitt County entered Heaven’s gate on Monday, September 25, 2017. She was born December 8, 1937 in Casey County.  Mrs. Pierce was an exceptional wife of 63 years, mother, homemaker and a loving second mom to a countless number of children of the neighborhood and church for over 50 years. Jean had an unwavering faith in her savior Jesus Christ.  She was a faithful member of Overdale United Church where she was very involved and assisted with numerous events.

Among those who preceded her in death include her parents, Roscoe and Stella Gaddis; sister Pearl Gaddis.

Mrs. Pierce leaves to cherish her memory her husband Carol Pierce; three children, Wanda Troxell (Dean), Gary Pierce (Teresa), and Brenda Duncan (Keith); six grandchildren, Chris Webb, Mike Webb, Keith Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Nathan Duncan, and Hannah Creech; five great grandchildren.  Jean is survived by a sister, Voicel Noe of Florence, KY

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 29, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks funeral home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Salem United Methodist Cemetery.  Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service.
