Virginia White

Virginia White, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.

Born on March 20, 1935, in Georgetown, KY, Virginia, fondly known as Ginny, lived a life filled with love and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the daughter of the late Robert Boyd Miller and Allie McClanahan Miller. She loved spending time with her family, taking care of others, and ensuring everyone was always fed. Her favorite time of year was springtime, when she always took notice of the flowers blooming and birds chirping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles White Sr., and siblings, RB Miller, Melvin Miller, Ida Mae Hockensmith, Betty Beshear, and Clarance Miller. She is survived by her children, Charles White Jr. (Jean), Danny White (Jessica), Mary White, and Debbie Bennett. She loved being known as Mamaw and Grandma to: Shannon Newcomb (Bret), Michelle White, Michael White (Lacie), Jessica Lemmons (Michael), Amanda Brooks (Austin), Kristen Crenshaw (Joe), Bobby White (Sarah), and Austin Bennett (Adrianna), as well as Lauren and Houston Higgs. She also cherished getting to see some of her great-grandchildren grow up, such as Emmalin (Bobby), Brittany, Brody, and Braxton (Shannon), Liam (Kristen), and Sawyer (Austin), and brother, Charles Ray Miller. 

Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 6:00pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy 44E @ 123 Winning Colors Drive) with Pastor Van Morris officiating. Burial to at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, March 28,2024 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
