Tony graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Louisville and retired as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Basham and Dortha Warren; and his siblings, Micheal Basham and Theresa Bischoff.
Tony leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Karen Basham. He is also survived by his daughters, Stacey Akridge (Drew) and Leah Schultz (Nick), and his four grandchildren, Whitlee and Blakely Akridge, and Kori and Ryan Schultz. As well as his siblings, Donald Basham and Judy Rogers, and many extended family members and dear friends.
More than anything, Tony loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving dad, and a proud Pawpaw who will be deeply missed. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, betting on the ponies, and simply enjoying life with the people he loved. Those who knew Tony will remember the laughter, stories, and memories that came with having him in their lives.
While his family would have given anything for more time with him, they are incredibly grateful for the 68 years of memories he leaves behind. His love will live on through his family and everyone who ever knew him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to hospice in gratitude for the kindness, comfort, and compassionate care provided to Tony during his final days
