Mr. William "Billy" R. Basham, age 60, of Irvington, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was born to Jerry and Virgina Basham in Louisville, Kentucky on November 8, 1965. Mr. Basham is preceded in death by his grandparents and his loving cat, Keyhole.
Mr. Basham proudly served and retired from the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He loved going camping and listening to country music. Mr. Basham loved Looney Tunes, and his favorite character was the Tasmanian Devil.
His memory will be cherished by his parents, Jerry and Virginia Basham; siblings, Ellen Heggie (Dale), Jerry Basham (Kaleena), and Tina Riggs (Bobby); a special niece, Selina Jones (Rob); nieces, Rachel and Elizabeth; nephews, Niles III, Steven, Mason, and Grayson; great nieces and nephews, Trevor, Madison, Kambel, Robert, Leon Jones, Elijah, Harper Riggs, Calvin, Josie, and Niles IV; along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky at 2:30 pm.
