William "Bill" Lawrence Kaufman, Sr.

Mr. William “Bill” Lawrence Kaufman, Sr., age 79, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 8, 2023.   He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on February 16, 1944, to the late Bernard “Bill” Lawrence Kaufman and Laverne Katherine Happle Kaufman.

He was a retired auto parts salesman having worked previously at Town & Country Ford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly Ann Gebhart Kaufman, having united in marriage on July 10, 1971; sons, Billy Kaufman (Melanie) and Barry Kaufman; daughter, Beth Portman (Barry); grandchildren, Timmy Douthitt, Kanin Kaufman, Kendall Kaufman, Evan Portman and Greyson Portman; brother, Robert “Bob” Kaufman (Marty) and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road).  Friends and loved ones may pay their respects on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 2 pm until time of service at the funeral home. 

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children which can be made at the funeral home.
