Mr. William Monroe, Jr. age 78, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on February 17, 2019. Mr. Monroe was born on June 26, 1940, in Speedway, IN to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Monroe, Sr. and Willamae (Bohanon) Monroe. He was in the 25th Infantry Division, 69th Armour and received a Purple Heart while serving in Viet Nam. He was an employee of Powers and Associates Inc.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Maudie Monroe.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, William J. Monroe and Danny E. Monroe; grandchildren Josh Monroe (Kayla), Grant Monroe; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Susan Stroll; brothers, David Monroe, James Monroe and Robert Monroe.
Cremation was chosen by the family. Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
