William Frank "Bill" Zorn, Jr.

William Frank “Bill” Zorn, Jr., age 84, of Fairdale, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 8, 2025, with loving family by his side. He was born on January 27, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William Frank, Sr. and Helen (Atzinger) Zorn. Bill was a member of Cove Baptist Church in Fairdale and a member of UFCW Local 227. He retired from Fisher Packing Company after 42 years of faithful service. Bill was a wonderful man with a kind heart. He loved to talk and laugh and never “met a stranger”.  He was a hard worker who provided well for his family. Bill’s true passion was his family; spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was what he held most dear to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenny Rushing and great-grandsons, Sean Sanford and Brandon Lankford. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 56 years, Violet (Dezarn) Zorn; children, Jeanene Bray (Donnie), Denise Rushing, Terry Zorn, Gwendolyn Pawluk (John), Gary Lankford, John Lankford, Cheri Avis (Dale) and Isaiah Zorn; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Donnie Zorn; aunt, Phyllis Mattie; cousin, Barney Thorne and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. There will be a reception following the burial at Cove Baptist Church 509 Old South Park Road Fairdale, Kentucky 40118.
