Agnes Beard Garrett

AGNES BEARD GARRETT, 90 of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2024 was born in Sycamore, Georgia ,1933 raised by Fred and Maude Beard. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ben Garrett, daughter Debbie Myler and brothers and sisters, Tommy Beard, Lucille Hopkins, Gloria Letchworth, Mary Zinke, Ricky Hopkins and Robbie Hopkins .

She is survived by her daughter Arlene Garrett, of Loganville, GA, son-in-law Rick Myler, grandson Michael Garrett Myler (Joni) and 2 great grandchildren, Avery and Quinn Myler. She is also survived by her siblings, Ed Hopkins (Eva), Peggy Benton (Larry) and Vickey Harrison (Pete) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends .

Agnes graduated from Sycamore High School, then traveled to Atlanta to attend business school where she became a secretary and eventually met and fell in love with Ben. They enjoyed entertaining and playing games with family and friends as their favorite pastime together along with traveling.

Agnes enjoyed working with the flowers in her garden and going out to eat and playing games with her daughter. She always felt a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet and she loved to have endless conversations and talks.

Our family is comforted that she is now at peace.

A visitation for Agnes will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, followed by a Celebration of Agnes' Life at 5:00 PM in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel. A catered reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
