Andre was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on November 29th, 1940. His early years of education commenced at his neighborhood school of Ecole Fondamental de Madame Bazile a Bizoton and L’Ecole Primaire de Darius Denis. Andre culminated his formal education by attending vocational school in Haiti with great proficiency in welding. He was a man of many talents from an early age with a natural affinity for knowledge and possessed great problem-solving skills. This benefited him later in life as he worked in culinary arts, mechanical, construction, and varied industries and hobbies effortlessly.
Andre met the love of his life, Carmen, in 1962 and they married on January 23rd, 1969. In search of a better life for his family, he emigrated from Haiti to the United States in the early 1970’s. He was a true believer in the American dream and always pursued all opportunities he was afforded. He worked hard for his family, working two jobs at Zenith Labs and Freidwald House for many years until he retired in the early 2000s.
Andre loved the Lord, life and encouraged others to do the same. He never met a stranger and always had uplifting words to share. He was a community builder at heart and his readiness to lend a helping hand was infectious. He was a friend to all, young and old, men and women. You could not miss him at the table playing dominoes, poker, discussing current events, or joking with family and friends. He was a lover of music and always dancing till his last days. He loved to travel and thankfully did, though he had many more places on his bucket list.
He is survived by his wife Carmen; children: Clifford, Juvens, and Martine (Baz); grandchildren: Teeyah, SeMone, Trevor, Malik, Sorrell, Ayden, Malaiya, Connor, Logan, Jayelle and Jayden; His brother Fritz Lamerique and sister Marie Claude Franck (Guy); many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was loved by many, and our hearts are heavy, but know he is dancing with the angels.
A visitation for Andre will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 319 Grayson Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
