

Ann loved the Lord and attended Lawrenceville First Baptist Church where she was an active member in her beloved Phoebe Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Lawrenceville where she spent several years as a member of the Singles Ministry
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover C. Phillips and Lorene D. Chastain, husband of 41 years, Clinton E. (Gene) Cheek, and sister Marie Houze.
She is survived by son, Clinton A. Cheek of Carrollton, GA; daughter, Julia C. Royston of Lawrenceville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Steve Atkinson of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren, six great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Ann was born in Alabama on October 8, 1936 and moved to Atlanta when she was a small child. She lived in and around Atlanta for the remainder of her life. She graduated from Newnan High School in 1955 and pursued a secretarial career starting with an insurance company and later with the State of Georgia.
After her second and last child was born in 1963 she became a "stay at home mom" for several years and went back to work in 1977 with the Dekalb County School System and retired in 1997 after 20 years of service.
Ann enjoyed many activities throughout her life, but always said that none gave her more pleasure than spending time with her family whether it was some special occasion or just a spur of the moment get together. She said these were always a time of fun, good food, much laughter and always love and lots of hugs!
A visitation for Ann will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, followed by at Graveside service in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039, at 12:00 PM.
