Arthur was born on February 8, 1945 in Manhattan, New York to Carroll Hunter and Mabel McLean. He attended Evander Childs High School in the Bronx, New York. He then served honorably in the United States Air Force. Arthur met his wife Beryl Turnbull in 1967 and they were together for 53 years.
Arthur was an avid fisherman. On any given weekend, you could find him out in Montauk Bay with his wife, family or friends catching Porgies. He was infamous for his quick wit and card tricks. He could always be counted on to entertain everyone at every family gathering. Arthur was also a devoted member of Dekalb United Pentecostal Church in Stone Mountain, GA.
Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Eleanor. He is survived by his wife, Beryl; four children, Michael, Maria, Michele, and Phillip; his brothers, Carroll and Dennis; his sisters, Margaret and Lisa; nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
