

Barbara was born in Erie, PA on a cold and snowy day on December 8, 1929. The oldest child of Lucille Anna (Parsons) and Charles Webber Bunce Sr. She grew up in Erie and went on to graduate from Wesminster College, New Wilmington, PA with a degree in Bible and Philosophy in 1952. She met Franklin “Frank” Thomas Jones at college. Prior to his death they were married 64 years. He was an ordained minister with the United Presbyterian Church (USA). He served in many churches and she served as his secretary in many of the churches. While he worked in New York, she began working for the Office of Laos as a secretary in NYC headquarters offices. In 1981, they came to Atlanta, GA to work with the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation. She continued to work as his secretary employed until they both retired in 2000. Both Barbara and Frank devoted over 50 years of their lives to the church.
She loved traveling , sewing, being with her grandchildren and family. Enjoyed reading, watching football and cheering for UGA, Penn State and the Braves. She had a fondness for giraffes and genealogy. She loved her dogs and cats always.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Cody, and sister Charlotte Lucille (Bunce) Hinds. Barbara is survived by her; brother and sister-in-law Charles Webber Bunce, JR and Nancy, daughter & son-in-law: Nancy & Jack Read, Grayson; daughter Patty Cody, Grayson; son & daughter-in-law: Bill & Stephanie Jones, Lawrenceville; granddaughter & grandson-in-law: Jennifer (Read) & David Orr, Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Pam Read, Grayson; granddaughter & grandson-in-law Kadee (Read) & Mark Rankins, Arlington, TX; grandson: Andrew Thomas Jones, Lawrenceville, granddaughters : Lauren Jones, Lawrenceville; Meredith Jones, Lawrenceville; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jack Read, David Orr, Mark Rankins, Bill Jones, Andy Jones, Mike Blaine, Gabe Mason, and Terry Bolinger.
Pastor Kathy Brockman will officiate.
