He was preceded in death by his son, Michael in 1982.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet (JP) McGill and his wife of 55 years, Brenda McGill.
Born in Louisville KY, Bob grew up in Decatur GA. He graduated from Druid Hills High and often participated in DHH alumni activities. He served two years active and four years reserved duty in the US Navy.
From the 1960’s until his death Bob worked in the printing, graphics, and photography industry in Atlanta. He mastered the art of photography under the tutelage of famed Atlanta historical and society photographer Van Buren Colley. He later established his own successful wedding and portrait photography business with the assistance of his wife, Brenda. Photograpy was his passion and his work can be seen, along with his life stories on www.shutterbugatlanta.com.
Bob was an active member of Mountain Park United Methodist Church. He never met a stranger and strangers always enjoyed knowing him.
He will be sorely missed and remembered by his family, his dear friends, and the hundreds of those in the Atlanta printing industry for his quiet , gentle spirit, dry humor, fantastic photographs, and instant readiness to serve others.
