At an early age, Tay joined the Free Church of God in Christ of Atlanta, Georgia. He sang in the choir and lead devotion on youth Sunday. He was a very humble, sweet kind hearted child and always said “yes, please and thank you”.
Tay attended Kelley Lake Elementary School, Hooper Alexander Middle School, and was a graduate of Avondale High School. He later attended and graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, GA where he received his Associate of Science Degree in Funeral Service. He obtained employment with Service Corporation International North Atlanta Personal Care Center. He was later hired as Funeral Director at Eternal Hills Funeral Home & Memory Gardens where staff said he was a joy to work with and on birthdays he gifted them with a song. Tay had a deep love for his family, a passion for music, enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Tay had a gift to sing and an ability to make people laugh with his outgoing, fun-loving personality, quick wit, charm and smile bright as the sun.
Tay leaves to cherish his memory, son Dusten D. J. Bailey; parents, Mr. Eddie & Linda Shaw; siblings, Eddie Jr. (Stephanie), Mesha, Ryan, Corey (Kalonie), Stephen, and LaRodus; grandfather, Mr. David Thornton; niece and nephews, Devin, Danielle, Dustin, Corey Jr., Tenea, Kennedi, and Stephen Jr.; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, friends, and a loving girlfriend Shyra Anderson and her daughter Shaniya.
He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 26, 2018 from 7pm-9pm at Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville, GA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00am at All Nations Life & Praise, 3060 Hwy 155 SW, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Interment will follow at Dawn Memorial Park in Decatur, GA.
