Donna Thompson, age 79, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2012. Mrs. Thompson passed away from complications from Alzheimer’s, which she had for many years. Donna was born on April 4, 1932 in Ellwood City, PA. She graduated from Jameson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked many years in hospitals and was the director of several nursing homes and retired in 1996 from Georgia Medical Care Foundation. She is preceded in death by her daughter Karen (Thompson) Perry in 1992, her husband of 51 years, Lale W. Thompson in 2004, son-in-law, Jerry Jackson, in 2005 and her mother Hazel Hoenstine in 2007. She is survived by her daughters Cathy Jackson of Snellville and Lynn Thompson of Lawrenceville, son Todd Thompson of Toccoa, sister Carol Lindsay of Ft. Worth, TX and 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 12, 2012, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
