Liz was born in Big Creek, Mississippi, and obtained a degree in Nutrition from Mississippi College for Women (MSCW). She worked as a Registered Dietitian (RD) at the VA hospital in Decatur, GA, for 35 years. She dedicated her life to the nourishment and care of others. Whether she was teaching her granddaughters how to cook, leading candy-making workshops, hosting gatherings for family and friends, preparing meals for her church's respite care ministry, or bringing delightful treats to special events and appointments, her gift for hospitality was evident. She embodied the spirit of I Peter 4:10, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." She was a devoted servant who inspired many through her generosity and faith in Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles “Charlie” Gray; her parents, Pauline and William Bryan Griffin; her sisters, Merle Grille and Dr. Ruby Martin; and her brother, William Ray Griffin.
Liz is survived by her children, Susan Gray, Charlene Fore (Eric), and Chuck Gray (Niki); granddaughters, Laurel Fore (Evan Roberts), Emily Wood (Vincent), and Ava Gray; great-grandson, Wesley Roberts Fore; sisters, Janice Bufkin and Ouida Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2208 Main St. E, Snellville, GA 30078, with her beloved Pastor, Rev. Allison Per-Lee, officiating.
