Enid Terrelonge

Beloved sister, mother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.

With heartfelt sadness and joyous memories, we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Enid Farnese Terrelonge (affectionately known as Mamadear), who peacefully left us on September 1st, 2025, just two months short of her 108th birthday.

Born in Cavaliers, in the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica, in 1917, she was a self-taught seamstress and true style icon who designed and created exquisitely detailed, high-quality clothing that always drew compliments from her family and customers alike. Her culinary skills set the family standard for “perfect” lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs, and she seemed to have an endless ability to teach herself new things. From hand-crocheted hats and blankets to home décor, her talents spoke volumes.

Her signature sparkle, sharp wit, and impeccable sense of style made her a beloved figure in the Lehigh Acres, FL, community where she lived for 35 years and a lifelong inspiration to friends and family. After celebrating her 100th birthday, she was often asked about the secret to her longevity. She would smile and answer simply: “I mind my own business.” That humor stayed with her through her final months, bringing laughter to friends, family, and hospice staff alike.

She is survived by her children, daughter Carole Naylor and son Carlyle McLaren (Karen); grandchildren Denise, Robert, Natalie, Richard, and Stephen(Petrina) Naylor. Kareem, Kadeem, and Kadrick McLaren. Great-grandchildren Christen (Derek) Melodie, Makenna, Ethan, and Selah. Great-great-grandchildren Zoe, Skylar, Derek Jr., and Ashton. The world was brighter for her presence.

We celebrate a life well lived—full of love, laughter, and thoughtful reflections on what it meant to really live and love with all your heart.

A celebration of Mamadear’s life will be held in Atlanta (date to be announced).

Rest in peace, dear Grandmother. You were truly one of a kind, and you will forever live in our hearts. May you sing with the angels and plant a new, beautiful garden in heaven.
