Farley Wayne Williams of Blairsville, Georgia, was born on August 8,1943 in Sour Lake, Texas to Clenon Farley Williams and Ada Mae Williams. He moved to Houston, Texas when he was 6 years old, where he met the love of his life, Sharon, in high school. Sharon and Wayne were married on November 27,1965 and were just two weeks away from celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary when Wayne suddenly passed away on November 13, 2025.
Wayne served his country in the army from May,1966 to May,1968. His last year was served in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged & returned to Houston. He was transferred to Nashville, TN, then to Lilburn, Georgia where he became the proud father of Tim Williams and Kevin Williams. He served in a number of volunteer positions throughout their childhoods and was a wonderful role model to numerous scouts and little league players over the years. He retired to Blairsville, GA, what he considered “God’s Country”, at his beloved cabin, riding his side-by-side with his son Tim and neighbor Barry—a true “slice of heaven” he would say. Wayne also loved texting back and forth with his son Kevin during UGA football games, a tradition that brought him endless joy. All these joys would make him say “it doesn’t get much better than this” or “livin’ the dream”!
Wayne always had a smile and a funny story to share. One of his favorites involved the time he was traveling with his grandchildren and the whole family had to be rescued by Russian “Old Believers” in Alaska.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Clenon and Ada Mae, and his brother, Jerry. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his two sons, Tim and Kevin, Kevin’s wife and kids, Hilary, Heidy, and Makai, his sister Benita, and sister-in-laws Carolyn and Beverly along with their spouses Mike and Dale. He also leaves behind his favorite cousin Sandy and numerous nieces and nephews.
To paraphrase one more saying from Wayne, Tim and Kevin say “When they grow up, they want to be just like you!”
