

Forrest Jackson “Jack” Dunlap, Jr., of Lilburn, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Jack was born on January 4, 1950 in Memphis, TN to Forrest and Jenise Dunlap, Sr. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972, as a paratrooper in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, 503rd Infantry Division. Jack’s unit earned the Army Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon Bar and he received the Combat Infantry Badge. For most of his career, Jack worked as a construction materials account manager. He was an active member of Zoar United Methodist Church, serving as a Bible Study leader and Praise Band member. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Forrest, Sr. and brothers David and Thomas Dunlap. Survivors include his wife Melinda Dunlap, son Trey Dunlap and wife Jennifer of Snellville, GA, daughter Anna Dunlap of Cumming, GA, grandson Jackson Dunlap, mother Jenise Dunlap of Conway, AR, sister Joyce Beckham of Conway, brother Stephen Dunlap and wife Libby of Little Rock, AR, brother Richard Dunlap and wife Dena of Little Rock and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to Donate Life Georgia, www.donatelifegeorgia.org.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Zoar United Methodist Church in Snellville. Burial will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 10:30am at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
